- Introduction
Welcome to Budget Moving Services (www.budgetmovingservices.net). By accessing our website, requesting a quote, or using our moving, packing, or storage services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
- Services Provided
We provide:
· Local moving within the entire state of Georgia and within our network of licensed intrastate and interstate carriers we are able to provide Local moving services in all 50 states.
· Long-distance and interstate moves along the U.S. East Coast and surrounding states, including but not limited to: North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and various neighboring states. Budget Moving Services LLC and the carriers in our network are able to provide local, long-distance, and international moving services in all 50 U.S states and Worldwide.
· Budget Moving Services LLC provides open and enclosed Vehicle Transportation to all 50 states in the U.S
· Packing services (full or partial packing).
· Storage services (overnight, short-term or long-term).
All services are subject to availability and separate written estimates or service agreements.
- Estimates and Quotes
· Non-binding estimates are based on the inventory you provide. Final charges may change if actual weight, volume, or services differ from the estimates and the quality assurance phone call made 72-hours prior to your scheduled move date to make any changes to the inventory, services, supplies and materials needed and required.
· Binding estimates (if provided) will be honored ONLY IF the scope of work, household inventory, and additional services remain unchanged from the final estimate updated during the quality assurance process, which is 72-hours prior to the move date.
· Free quotes are estimates only and not final contracts. A signed moving agreement and moving deposit is required to confirm the moving services, the move date, moving crew, and truck.
- Cancellations and Rescheduling
· Local moves: Cancel at least 48 hours before your scheduled move date to avoid a cancellation fee of $250.00
· Long-distance/interstate moves: Cancel at least 7 days prior to avoid a fee of $350.00 or the deposit amount (whichever is greater).
· Rescheduling: Subject to crew availability. Rescheduling within 24 hours of the move may incur a $100.00 fee.
- Payment Terms
· A deposit (typically 20–25% of the estimate) is required to secure your moving date for long-distance moves. For local moves there is a payment required for up to 2 (two) hours of labor that is required to book for a deposit, that’s equivalent to the hourly rate for the specified size of your move. The deposit is applied towards your total moving cost and balance.
· Full payment is due before all items are unloaded for local moves, and before the delivery process is started for long-distance moves.
· We accept cash, credit/debit cards, ACH, cashiers check, and wire transfers. Credit card payments may incur up to a 4% processing fee.
· Unpaid balances past 7 days will accrue interest at 1.5% per month (or the maximum allowed by law) and may be sent to collections.
- Liability for Loss or Damage
· Released Value Protection (Basic): Included at no charge. We are liable up to $0.60 per pound per article. This is minimal coverage.
· Full Value Protection (Optional): You may purchase this for an additional fee. We will repair, replace, or reimburse the current replacement value of lost/damaged items.
· You are responsible for damage to unpacked items packed by you unless caused by our negligence.
· Prohibited items (see Section 9) are not covered under any liability.
For interstate moves, our liability is governed by federal FMCSA regulations and Your Rights and Responsibilities as a consumer will be provided with every interstate move that is booked under Budget Moving Services LLC.
- Storage Services
· Storage is provided under a separate Storage Agreement. These Terms apply to the moving portion that leads to storage.
· Monthly storage fees are due on the 1st of each month. Late fees apply after the 10th.
· We may sell or dispose of stored goods for non-payment after providing 30 days’ written notice (or as permitted by state law).
· We are not liable for pre-existing damage, normal wear and tear, or damage caused by acts of nature (fire, flood, mold, pests) unless due to our gross negligence.
- Claims Process
· Local moves: Any damage must be noted on the delivery receipt before you sign. Written claims must be filed within 14 days of delivery.
· Long-distance moves: You have 9 months from delivery to file a written claim. We have 30 days to acknowledge receipt and 120 days to settle or deny.
· Failure to follow these deadlines waives your right to claim.
- Prohibited Items
We do not transport or store:
· Hazardous materials (explosives, gasoline, propane, acids, paints, ammunition)
· Perishable food
· Live plants or animals
· Cash, jewelry, valuable documents, or collectibles (you must transport these yourself)
· Illegal substances or stolen goods
If you knowingly include prohibited items, you are liable for all resulting damages, cleaning fees, and legal penalties.
- Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
· Be present or have an authorized representative at pickup and delivery.
· Disconnect appliances, drain waterbeds/hoses, and prepare electronics.
· Provide sufficient parking, elevator access, and clear pathways.
· Notify us of any stairs, long carries, or difficult access before the moving day.
Delays caused by your failure to prepare will result in additional hourly charges.
- Delays and Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays caused by:
· Weather, traffic, road conditions, or mechanical issues
· Strikes, labor disputes, or supplier shortages
· Acts of God, war, terrorism, or government orders
Any estimated arrival time is non-guaranteed. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of delays.
- Your Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your data. By using our services, you consent to our collection of personal information necessary to perform the move and process payment.
- Governing Law and Disputes
· For local moves and intrastate moves (within Georgia): Georgia state law applies, and any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of Gwinnett County, Georgia
· For interstate moves: Federal FMCSA regulations supersede conflicting state laws, but venue for any lawsuit shall be Gwinnett County, Georgia unless otherwise required by law.
· Informal dispute resolution: Before suing, you agree to contact us to attempt a good-faith negotiation for 30 days.
- Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes are effective when posted on this page, with a new “Last Updated” date. For ongoing storage or future moves, the Terms in effect at the time of your signed agreement apply.
