Empty and defrost the refrigerator the night before, drain fuel from lawn equipment, and set aside valuables, important documents and jewelry to carry yourself.

On move day, walk the crew through the home before loading starts, point out anything fragile or anything that stays behind, and keep a clear path from the front door to the truck. At the new home, a quick room-by-room walkthrough lets the crew place furniture where you want it the first time. Before the crew leaves, check each room and the truck together so nothing is left behind.
